Presumably, since both my husband and myself received them, MetroAccess has sent a mailshot to all MetroAccess riders containing the new Customer Guide booklet.
The accompanying letter is reproduced below - spelling errors are ours as a result of the scanning process.

To our valued MetroAccess customers:
As part of our ongoing efforts to improve service, beginning June 30, 2006, we will require all MetroAccess customers to show their valid MetroAccess ID card 100% of the time.
Some of you have experienced situations in which a driver has not been able to determine which customer to pick up at a location. In some cases, muPtiple drivers have been dispatched to a single location to serve multiple customers, only to have a driver pick up the wrong passenger because they did not or could not verify identity. There have been instances where a custoner was designated as a no-show because they were not able to verbally identify thenselves to the driver, even though both driver and custoner were at the pickup location.
The experiences mentioned above and other similar circumstances can be avoided by requiring 100% ID verification fron all MetroAccess customers.
It is incumbent upon Metro to protect the rights and security of our MetroAccess customers by preventing misuse of the system. In the past, you presented your MetroAccess ID upon request. Our new policy, which becomes effective June 30, 20D8, will require you to present your MetroAccess ID card 100% of the time.
