As followup to a recent user comment posted to this site, DC ParaTransit Info contacted the office of DC Councilmember Carol Schwartz (R-At Large) asking for more information regarding recent media reports of her looking into the MetroAccess issues in her capacity as Chair of the District’s Committee on Public Works and the Environment.  We received the following response to our inquiry today:

Councilmember Schwartz, as chair of the Committee on Public Works and the Environment, is conducting an annual review of WMATA’s budget and spending for Fiscal Year 2005 and thus far for FY 2006, next Wednesday, February 22, at 4:30 p.m. in Room 412 of the John A. Wilson Building.  During that hearing, she intends to ask questions of Metro concerning the highly publicized problems with Metro Access since the new contractor took over last month.
